Bridgweater Grist Mill - Horizontal composition
One of Connecticut's scenic icons photographed from a very rare perspective within the flume gorge.
The common compositions are always from the busy road nearly 40 ft. up to the left. The scene has greatly deteriorated since the latter 1980's as gnarly tree's and Sumac have taken over the view from the roadway. The current property owners have also cleared out shapely mature trees behind the mill which now expose parked vehicles and a brightly colored home.
I always take the road less traveled to gain a perspective that is rare and dynamic. The only other high quality images I have ever seen from within the gorge are from photographer Dave Anderson.
