The beautiful Painted Trillium is a spectacular wildflower found on the forest floor in late May. It can often be spotted in the northern forest of Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine as well as the Adirondacks of New York.
It displays 3 sets of 3 on a single stem. Three white petals with vivid purple markings over three reddish tipped pointed leaves, leading down to three broad green leaves. By mid summer, the fragile flower will have been replaced with red berries.
